Cool Kids Anxiety Program

A structured, evidence-based program that helps children and teenagers understand anxiety, face fears step by step, and get back to school, friendships and everyday life.

A structured, evidence-based program developed by Macquarie University's Centre for Emotional Health, designed to help children and teenagers manage anxiety. It runs as 10 sessions across a school term and can be delivered one-on-one or in groups, in person or via telehealth. For teens, the program is also known as Chilled.

Children and adolescents aged 7–17 who experience excessive worry, fear, or anxiety that gets in the way of school, friendships, family life, or day-to-day activities — including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, and separation anxiety.

The program uses cognitive-behavioural therapy techniques. Sessions cover understanding anxiety, learning to think more realistically, gradually facing fears (exposure), and building practical coping and relaxation skills.
